What is an infographic? If you don't know, go look it up. Read about it and then in your own words tell me what an infographic is. What do infographics do? How do they work? What makes a really good infographic?

Some would say that it is like chart that show people stats and stuff and to be honest, I would agree. They work by collecting information and then putting into the form of charts and other really cool things. I would say a really good infgraghic involves lots of colors and is really easy to read.

Tell me about your Homecoming weekend! If you didn't participate in the Homecoming festivities, what did you do? Share pics!

Ash-

On Friday I went to the homecoming game and sat right next to Zach Naatz and we went really hard. Sam Prats was there too.  It was fun we dominated and stuff. Now on to Saturday...... I plead the fifth and if you don't give me points I will sue for not giving me my constitutional rights. Sunday was awesome though I got to help a bunch of first graders play rugby again and it was so cute untill two of them got into a fight. It quickly escalated from cute to hilarious.

It kind of looked like this

Imagine Mr. Bacon has asked you to suggest one way of improving Blue Valley High School to make it a better place for students. Think about the changes that are needed at your school. Pick one change you feel would really make a difference and explain what it is and why you'd make the change.
Today in Emerging Technology:

Dear Ash,

When I was asked to Imagine Mr. Bacon has asked you to suggest one way of improving Blue Valley High School to make it a better place for students. Only one thing came to mind. I wish that my favorite teacher who helps lead our generation through the up and downs and left and rights of changing technology throughout today society  was here today. Class just isnt the same with Mrs.Harris.  Even though it may not be her birthday its sadly not a constant party.

What is email? When do you use email in your own personal life? List reasons and ways that people use email. What do you know about "email etiquette"?

What is email? What is life? Lets explore.

Email is this handy dandy tool that the rulers of the internet put out to all of the waiting peasants. It lets the people of the internet send really cool or important "emails" to a different person or group.  It is how I am keeping gin contact with my admission officer  To LINDENWOOD UNIVERSITY. People can use it to send complaints or nasty emails from parents to teachers because their kids are failing. classic the kids are never at fault. I know that email ediquette changes depending on who you are sending the email too. See Andrew Hoslers blog for more information about email.

Now that you've been in Emerging Technology for several weeks... what do you think? Do you think the web tools (Drive, Evernote, Bubbl, etc.) are helpful to you? Do you think they will be helpful throughout high school or even college? Explain.

I have really enjoyed this class. it makes me giggle and I learn a lot too. I feel like this class is going to actually hurt me in college because I am going to miss it so much. I might cry y self to sleep every night with out it. Even though you did cut me off yesterday while leaving the parking lot but dont worry I wont be bitter for long. I really like learning about all  the web tools I didnt know that I could all those things it really helps me express who I am as an individual.  Cha feel?

Do you enjoy writing? When do you enjoy it? What kind of writing do you enjoy? Why do you think the ability to write is so important no matter what kind of writing it is? Give an example that you enjoyed writing or hated writing. Why?

I really dont enjoy writing. I mean I enjoy writing bomb blog post and such but like writing just isnt really my thing. The ability to write is pretty bomb because like its how one communicates with a different organism so like thats chill and stuff. I really enjoy writing blog posts like the Putin  one was pretty high quality or the xoxo gossip girl was bombtastic too. so yeah thats pretty much it I guess, I really dont know how to end this, Thank you? goodbye? Amen? Peace out girl scout? Destiny? who knows maybe through the journey of life I will find out.

Reflect on this quote. Give an example of a time in your life that this might have been the case.

What is Success? What if failure? What is Life? Who do we set these standers based Upon?  What gives one person the ability to judge when a second has failed? Is it Education? Is it Money? Is it Muscles? Am I answering the Question or just making points that dont matter? Is it in a book? Should we take a look? Is it Reading Rainbow? What is preparation? Why does Big Hunna Ben Franklin get to judge my failure? but on a serious note we didnt practice very hard one week and lost to STA 75-15 lesson learned.

What is the importance of research? Why do you need to know how to research? What have you learned in high school about researching topics and finding quality resources? Have you had a helpful teacher that has taught you to research? Explain.

Research is very very important. Its how people learn about different topics that we are forced to go through by the public school system. If one does not research well the rest of your group gets really mad at you because you force them to get a bad grade and then they take you and beat you up with words and then you go and tweet about it and then no ones cares and then you get sad. I have learned a lot like how Wikipedia is "not a credible source" that's a lie, Wikipedia says so. You have really been a true leader in teaching us how to research. I really want to thank you for that. I really would be an even worse student with out you. Thanks dawg

Global Issue Project -Patrick Mcleroy

For my global issue in Emerging Technology I have chosen the Russian Ukraine Conflict . I have begun researching the issue and you can find my research questions here.

Blog Post:

I don't think that this question is an OK question to ask! I was a child born in 1997 I would not be able to kids now to kids in the 70's and 80's simply because I was alive. Also I am not "kid these days" any way. I turned 17 on July 30th of 2014 and my mommy threw me a groovy birthday party. I am an adult even though I cant vote I can buy my own tickets to an r rated movie now all by my self using my moms credit card! But on a more serious note kids these days suck. They Get everything they want and don't ever have to work for it. When I was their age I walked to school uphill both ways in 3700000000 inches of snow even in the middle of summer! "when I was their age I had to walk ten feet for a smoothie now robots bring them to me" -Zach Naatz "When I was their age I played Pokemon on my gameboy color"- Andrew

Blog Post of the day

Tell me about the global issue you selected. What do you already know about the issue? What are you looking forward to learning about it? Explain.

I picked the Russian Ukraine conflict because it could be the next major war that happens to this earth. I am looking forward to being able to make my own opinion about who is really fault or if it it justified. I already know somewhat of why it started. it started because Russia wanted to project "Russian Interests" in the Ukraine but I am not sure what those are and I want to find out. Some people are saying that this could be the next World War I really want to know if it actually could be.

In case you cant tell what this is, it is Zach Naatz and I showing how scared we are of Putin and his Communist red scare ways.

What did you do this weekend? Share pictures if you have them!

This weekend I spent 14 hours in my recording studio playing drums and bass over for my friends EP. It was super stressful but also lots of fun. We laid down some sick beats for all the peasants that want to listen. I didn't take any pictures this weekend so here is a picture of a cat in space who is possibly on drugs!

Blog Post of the Day:
Yesterday I asked your to "think differently" and push yourself to be uncommon with your PSA project using Google Slides. Why do you think I asked you to do that? What is the point? Why not just use bullets and headers? Explain.

You asked us to do this because you are our teacher and your job is to really help us not just become better students but also to help us find our-self's as individuals. The point was for us to show you how creative we can be as individuals and not as students who are all just suppressed and forced go through the motions of the public school system. If we used bullets and headers it would be just a different way the government takes away our individual rights and makes us all just do the same thing. Its like you cant give a monkey and a fish the same test that wouldn't work. But you did this because you respect our rights as students and you want us to truly grow as people. That is why I really look up to you. Not just as a teacher but truly as leader of a Generation.

Labor day Bruh

I had the best Labor day weekend ever. I went to watch some of my old teammates play a rugby game at the University of Central Missouri. The game was KU v.s. UCM. So I showed up and I was like what up friends then get this, the ref came up to me was like, "hey you are the captain of BVRFC right?" and I was like "Yes I am" we talked for a while then she was like "hey I need you to AR (assistant referee) this game for me!" So of course I did it and I got to Ref my first college game. But wait it gets better. So the mens side (college and older) comes around and the head coach of KU comes up to me and is like "hey you are going to Lindenwood and they are pretty good so will you play for our team for this game and you can play what ever position you want." So I borrowed some ones cleats, shorts, and I found an unused mouth Piece and got to play my first college rugby game. Now are you ready for the best part?!? I was talking to coach after the game and he said he has been a coach at KU since 1977! I was like noway my dad played at KU during the 80's. That's when I found out that my first college rugby coach was the same guy that coached my dad when he was at KU!!! It was such a cool feeling getting to play for the same coach as your dad. I am still so happy and it was the best Labor day weekend ever. But on the way home I got my first speeding ticket BUT NOTHING CAN BRING ME DOWN!
